Project Ciao

Fostering Connections Through Innovation

Project Ciao is an international initiative by the Amplifon Foundation designed to reduce loneliness and enhance community connections in aged care through cutting-edge video conferencing technology.

The program has been implemented in over 150 aged care facilities across Italy, Portugal, and France. It is now being piloted in Australia, including at MACG homes Oaklea Hall and Carrum Downs Aged Care.

  • Large 82-inch screens enable group interactions between residents and staff.
  • Live content, such as yoga sessions, art classes, horticultural, dancing, and virtual tours.
  • Facilitates connections between residents, families, and other facilities.
  • Includes interactive activities like virtual gardening to inspire creativity.
  • Builds connections within and across aged care homes and their communities

In partnership with Monash University and the National Centre for Healthy Ageing, the Australian launch featured an inspiring virtual travel session that connected residents across homes and demonstrated the program’s transformative potential.
